Resource charging#

The 3HCloud platform uses two charging models: postpaid and prepaid. The charging model depends on the resource type.

Cloud resources charging#

Cloud resources use the postpaid charging model. Charges are calculated hourly, starting when a resource is created and continuing until it is deleted.

Charging continues regardless of the resource status. For example, shutting down a virtual server (changing its status to SHUTOFF) does not stop charges from accruing.

The same charging model applies to cloud and data center infrastructure IP addresses, as well as attached SSDs. Charges for these resources are also calculated hourly.

Dedicated servers and colocation charging#

Dedicated servers and colocation services use the prepaid charging model. The cost of these services for the upcoming calendar month is charged on the last day of the current month.

The corresponding charge appears in the billing details on the last day of the month. The amount shown represents the cost of the services for the upcoming month, not the period that has just ended.

Warning

The projected End-of-period balance field in the billing details includes the cost of prepaid resources starting from the first day of the month.

Starting charging#

To start charging for a dedicated server or colocation service, you must make an advance payment. Your account balance must have sufficient available funds to cover the monthly cost of the service.

Once you confirm service activation, we reserve the corresponding amount in your account. The reserved amount remains on hold until the service is actually provided.

Currently, reserved funds don’t appear in your account balance. It will be available soon.

When charging starts, the reserved amount is released and applied toward payment for the first month.

Warning

Charging starts when the service is actually provided and charging is activated, not when the service activation request is submitted.

Changing charging terms#

Changes to charging terms take effect on the first day of a calendar month. Charging terms cannot be changed in the middle of a month.

Stopping charging and deactivating a service#

To stop charging for a dedicated server or colocation service, submit a deactivation request at least 30 days before the intended deactivation date.
